The Mad River Valley 4-Season Guide is celebrating 25 years as the area's most comprehensive guide!
To my valley-wide, loyal advertisers and contributors: I appreciate all the support we have received through the years, some lean and others heavy with snow in the winter and art in the summer.
Many of you remember the days when my sisters and I served up ice cream and Bonnie Raitt at the Kehoe Inn (Sweetwood). Some of you have been supporters of my ISEE USEE displays at the mountain in the mid-80s, while the really old-timers recall Felix von Moschisker's precursor to our current guide, 'The Scene Scene.' Last week Felix dropped off a copy of that illustrative publication from 1974. If you want to see how things have changed, yet still stay the same, stop in to the office at #1 Village Square and peruse this archeological treasure.
A majority of you (or your business under previous owners!) contributed when our guide was created in the larger 8" x 9' format by Bud and Diane Sibley under the name 'Sugarbush Guide,' stayed with us under the 'guidance' of Larry and Kathy Murphy, celebrated when Susan Klein and I merged the chamber's Mad River Valley lure piece to make the Mad River Valley 4-Season Guide the official fulfillment piece for the chamber. And I was pleased to take the helm five years ago as the local publisher for your guide to the Mad River Valley.
Some of you are new in your local business and I hope we grow together here in the Mad River Valley.
As part of our 25th anniversary celebration, I offer a special loyalty clause in this year's guide renewal. To take advantage there are 3 easy steps:
1) Just say, 'yes, I'm in!' by May 15!
2) Add a comment via comment box or email
3) You get: a 10% discount (15% if you're a MRV Chamber member!); the opportunity for a 4-month installment payment plan; and a chance for a $50 gift certificate from Inverness Ski Shop.*
Please email back with any suggestions about how to make our (your!) guide the best ever.
(* the winner of last fall's 'comment raffle' was West Hill House, for a dinner for 2 at Chez Henri)
